I get off the plane and a wave of heat heats me like a ball of fire. I was blown away with how hot it was. I am wearing black pants and a white shirt. I followed the crowd of people to the immigration area were we waited in line to be let into Mexico. My family and I were all very tired from the 6 hour plane ride we had just embarked on.
After finishing immigration, we waited for our luggage and made our way toward the bus that takes us to our resort. The bus ride was about 2 hours and I slept the entire way. Our resort was huge. It had 2 buffets, an Italian, Mexican and Japanese restaurant and a crepier. As well as 5 pools and an amazing view of the ocean.
My friend Jackie was arriving from Victoria the next day and I couldn't wait to see her, we were both excited to be going to Mexico only a couple days after swimming at provincals together. We planned on ling on the beach or by the pool all day and go shopping in Playa Del Carmen.
Our trip together was awesome. We both got burnt on the very first day. We both were almost the colour of strawberries. Our brothers made fun of us for getting burnt and not putting enough sun screen on. On our 5th day we both got our entire head braided. I chose blue and white beads and she got blue and pink beads. She shopped for souvenirs and ate lots of Mexican ice cream.
We enjoyed our trip and plan to one day go by ourselves without our family. We will save money and go for our graduation trip. Until then we will just look at pictures of the beach!
